| Interesting month trying the new board. it seem to work very well. The minimum rocker takes a bit to get used to, but the board is gliding and giving very long rides | |||||

May started well, but then I got a wound on top of hand. It kept me out
of the water. 13 May I left on a drive to San Vicente de Barquera for
the bi anual meeting with our surfgroup 50+ I was arriving several days early and started surfing around the area. The 8.7 board was performing very well. Already looking forward to next 50 plus in September.  |

Beginning of June I started a roadtrip From Oyambre, along the North
coast of Spain. The Atlantic coast of Galicia. Down the West coast of
portugal to Sagres 27 I went to S.Torpe area. Sagres very windy, and waves over 2 m.. It seems to be less here, or wind starts later. Had several very good days surfing Malhao. First time ever using this beach, but it is very good. Only few surfers and good sandbars. This beach is facing a bit North West, relative shallow, making waves break further out. |

| This month the surfing was in Sagres area. Even if this is now the holiday season, it is mainly surfschools that are busy. They start 9..10 am and leave in the afternoon, so early morning and late afternoon it is relatively quiet. The quality of the waves are not that good, but I am happy with my high volumen board. It work well in these conditions | |||||

| Surf Sagres area. End of August I drove to France Moliet Plage. To meet with friends. Driving the usual route , further Nort turn towards Burgos and San Sebastian, across the border arriving Moliet 1 of Sept. | |||||

In Moliet I stayed a week . Only 4 days before the waves were too
big to surf. I was enjoying the time anyway. Next I tried some places along the coast. There as still 10 days until our 50 Plus surf course started. I did find some good surf in Playa de Vega. Near Ribadesella. It was hower rain and I droppet the tent and used Hotel in stead. Monday 19 the surf course started and lasted for 2 weeks. First week very good and sunny. Second week still good waves but rain a drop in temperature. |

When surfcourse was finished, I stayed 0ne week more. A lot of
longboarders come to San Vicente de Barquera. I got talking to
several of them. The actually good waves for longboarders are crowded
however. Then the return trip was started. Part of the trip I was following the N2 , a route like the famous Route 66 in USA. The weather was fine to start, but then rainy days came. I stayed 2 nights in Porto Covo and surfed Malhao beach. Next stop was Aljezur where I had booked a workshop that included a ice bath. That was a great experience. It was inspired by Wim Hof. I continued doing the breathing every day.. |

Sometimes the waves are too big or too steep for my longboard. One day I
found in a shop a bodyboard, extra long. I tried it and it worked well.
Next I discussed the case with our local shaper, and he accepted to try
and make a version. Below is the board. Not quite finished 5 feet 4 inch
long 23 inch wide. Twin fin. New body board under construction. It is longer that a standart bodyboard, because I plan to paddle it like a surfboard. With my arms. |
