After a week of preparation and packing , I am off. This is the first trip away from Sagres in 2 years. But eventually I was ready. To make matters more complicated, a rain center was hanging over Iberian penincular.
The forst stop was near Alcaser do Sal 200 km North from Sagres.
This hotel was an old factory.Very smartly converted. A place I willl hopefully return to visit again.
The following morning I drowe on to Extremadura . the town of Brozas, where I used my usual Hotel Sostenible la Laguna. This hotel is very good value for money. Though the cafeteria was so busy in the evening that I decided to eat in my room. Just a little snack fo bread , pate, fruit.
I was in good time . It was only thursday morning when I mooved on. The following night I was staying in a small village named Villanueva de Campean. 15 km South from Zamora. In an old , buityfully converted house. Interesting there was also an old Convento. Santa Maria del Soto. Now in ruins as it was dating back to 1406, maybee several hundred years before.
Leaving from this nice place friday, I was heading into the mountains . I knew from before that there was a nice spa center there. that was my next stop. I ordered a full body massage. Lunch and dinner there was a good menu.
Next morning , Saturday, I arrived in san Vicente de Barquera. One day early, so I took a hotel on the waterfront . Next afternoon I could enter a Bungalow on the Camping .
